The Odyssey Language Instructor Program (created in 1973 to promote Canada's two official languages and the cultures they convey) offers a paid and professional work experience that gives the opportunity to travel anywhere in Canada to work with students for nine months. Earn over $29 per hour by gaining valuable classroom work experience. Under the supervision of a teacher, you will plan and lead activities on a daily basis to motivate students to learn more about the target language. You will share your culture and promote the linguistic particularities of your region through arts, music, stories, local expressions and humor. Your work will mainly consist of:
• prepare and carry out language activities (comprehension and oral expression);
• develop activities that focus on everyday communication to help students improve their French language skills in real situations;
• be inspired by your interests and those of the students to put your talents and passions to work, in order to help them improve their knowledge of French while having fun;
• animate activities, in particular, launch a debate, organize a quiz, stage a play, teach a dance or a new sport.

• animate small groups of 2 to 10 students;
• motivate students to improve their French;
• encourage students to appreciate and discover their culture, as well as their own, in a respectful and creative way through language;
• participate in cultural activities in the evening or on weekends;
• meet with school staff upon request.
On the way to your Odyssey!
