We are extremely proud of Marie-Ève, one of our talented young people, who took the initiative to write an article following her enriching experience as part of the Parc à Chèvres project.

Passionate about journalism, she not only wrote a Press release, but also made a mini interview with Annick, the owner of the park. Her commitment and her desire to discover the world of media are impressive!

👏 We were so inspired by her work that we want to share it with you all!

A new goat park!

From little rabbits to big horses, we help all animals. A local project is helping a small farm.

The Youth Employment Center (CJE) from Vaudreuil-Soulanges decided to organize a volunteer activity on the farm, Beauty and her animals. The project was quite simple: build and decorate an enclosure for goats. A large number of volunteers came to help for this activity that lasted 5 weeks, starting on July 17, 2024. This stimulating activity brought together creative young people from different backgrounds in an unusual context for many.

What happened every week at the goat park?

It's normal to ask yourself this question. Well, there were several small projects to do in the goat's habitat: a tire structure, two colorful little houses, and a fence. All painted, assembled and, of course, put in place in the small animal enclosure. With all the colors of the rainbow at their disposal, the volunteers brought the place back to life and created structures for the goats to play.

Moreover, the fence, between the habitat of goats and that of chickens, includes the most details. Sunflowers, mushrooms, cacti, and vines are all shapes that can now be found on this one. This is what most highlights the talent of the young artists who participated in the activity. There is even a special sign that displays the handprints of all participants along with their names to identify them.

The CJE has therefore left its mark on the farm of Beauty and Her Beasts thanks to Anik Renaud, the owner who gave great freedom to the participants in this project. In fact, I took the time to talk to her to find out her opinions on the activity.

Without the crossroads, I could not have succeeded in doing [...] such a beautiful project. ” - Anik Renaud

Anik had a vague idea of what she wanted to achieve in this project. She was amazed at the volunteers' involvement. The owner also mentions that:” my expectations were exceeded. I did not expect it to be so beautiful ”, going so far as to say that she feels proud every time she looks at the goat park.

Anik explains that she was very impressed by the project volunteers, their willingness to come back every week as well as the mutual support they showed. She said she believed that participants should feel welcome if they were motivated to come back. A nice surprise she mentioned was the fact of” building relationships ” with the project volunteers. She got to know people of all different personalities which was refreshing.

To conclude, this project was a long one with some pitfalls, but the result was worth it! The activity was a magnificent success. We can therefore give a good hand of applause to the volunteers. They braved the sun and rain to offer the pretty little goats on the farm an enclosure worthy of the name. You can go and see for yourself these new installations that the participants have put in place. Always welcoming, Beauty and Her Beasts is open for visits!
